Voucher Resources

If you are interested in getting a voucher to help reduce the cost of having your pet fixed, here is a list of groups that offer vouchers.

Each organization has different rules for giving out vouchers. You will need to talk to them directly to find our what their requirements are for getting a voucher.

Critters Without Litters will accept vouchers from each of the groups listed below.




City Of Bakersfield Animal Control

Offers vouchers on a limited basis for dog owners living in the Bakersfield city limits.
Offers low cost vaccination, licensing and microchips during monthly clinics at city parks.

Kern Humane Society

Offers vouchers for cats and dogs on a limited basis the first Saturday of the month only, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Offers vouchers for cats and dogs on a limited basis to low-income families living in the unincorporated areas of Kern County. Persons interested in a voucher will first need to complete an application available at one of the Kern County Animal Services’ shelter locations listed above.
Kern County Animal Services also offers assistance in having feral cats spayed/neutered. For full details of this program, please contact the shelter directly at 661-868-7100.

Tehachapi Humane Society
THS offers vouchers for cats and dogs on a limited basis for pet owners living in Tehachapi, Keene, Hart Flat, Caliente, Mojave, California City, Rosamond, Boron, and North Edwards. Please call 661-823-0699, ext. 1, for more information.

The Cat People
The Cat People offer limited vouchers for cat owners in the greater Bakersfield area. Please contact them directly at 661-327-4706 for details about getting a voucher through their organization.
